Mr. Koelbel currently holds a valid U. S Coast Guard Operators License for 100-ton vessels and 100 miles offshore of the United States and its possessions. Original license for 65' passenger vessels was granted in 1946.

Mr. Koelbel is a frequently-invited guest speaker at marine trade conferences and industry evaluation seminars throughout the United States
